Philosophy of Vaishnavism in Iraniyan Vathaippadalam

Abstract

The destruction of Hiranyan occurs in the Third sub section of the Sixth Canto of the Ramayana called Yuddha Kandam. It is called Ramayana in miniature which proposes the Philosophy of Surrender, the crux of Vaishnavam. Chanting of the Eight Letter Manthra ‘Om Namo Narayanaya’ was the vital force for Prahalathan which explains the five Manifestations of the Lord Narayana. The renowned Poet Kamban through the exposition of this destruction of Hiranyan, is of the view that becoming a dedicated devotee and surrender of one’s self unto Lord Vishnu makes the Soul to sublime heights. This Paper probes into how Lord Vishnu comes down from this heavenly abode to protect a staunch Devotee who is absolutely at his lotus feet at all times. This concern of the God is the fundamental Concept of Vaishnavam.

ஆய்வுச்சுருக்கம்

கம்பராமாயணத்தின் ஆறாவது காண்டமாகிய யுத்தகாண்டத்தில் மூன்றாவது படலமாக விளங்குவது இரணியன் வதைப்படலம். சின்ன இராமாயணம் எனப் புகழப்படும் இரணிய வதைப்படலம் வைணவத்தின் கோட்பாடாக விளங்கும் சரணாகதித் தத்துவத்தைப் புலப்படுத்துவதாய் உள்ளது. ‘ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய’ எனும் திருஎட்டெழுத்து மந்திரத்தை உருவேற்றுதலே பிரகலாதனின் பேராற்றலாக விளங்கியது. கம்பன், இயணியனின் வதைப்படலத்தின் மூலமாக ஸ்ரீஹரி நாராயணனின் பக்தர்களுக்கு எம்பெருமானாகிய ஸ்ரீ விஷ்னுவின் பாதாரவிந்தத்தில் சரணாகதி அடைதலே விழுமிய உயர்வை அடைவதற்கான வழி எனும் தத்துவத்தை முன்வைக்கிறார். இக்கட்டுரையானது ஸ்ரீ மகாவிஷ்னு தனது தாமரைப்பாதத்தைச் சரணடைந்த அடியவரைக் காக்கும் பொருட்டு எந்த நேரத்திலும் தனது வைகுண்ட வாசத்தலத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி வருகிறார் என்பதை விளக்குவதாகவே அமைகிறது. இறைவனின் இக்கருணையே வைணவக் கொள்கையின் அடித்தளமாகும்.
