The Indication of Society in Civilization and Moral Literature

Abstract

Since the theme of this paper is the Indication of society in mass civilization and moral literature, it is essential to probe into the words ‘Society’ and ‘Civilaization’. The height of culture is civilization and society is a group of people with an identity living in the same place permanently. The experts who stady civilization propose from main characteristics of civilization. They are the objective of reaching an aim, appreciative actions, moral values and an understanding of humanity. All these from characters are dealt with deeply in Thirukkural. And this becomes the focus of this paper.

ஆய்வுச் சுருக்கம்:

‘நாகரிகப் பொருண்மையும் நீதி இலக்கியமும் காட்டும் சமுதாயம்’, எனும் தலைப்பில் இக்கட்டுரை அமைவதால் தொடக்கத்தில் நாகரிகம், சமுதாயம் ஆகிய பொருண்மைகளை விளக்கப் படுத்துவதாக உள்ளது. நாகரிகம் என்பது பண்பாட்டின் உச்சங்களாகக் காணப்படுகின்றது. சமுதாயமோ ஒரு மக்கள் கூட்டம் ஓர் அடையாளத்தில் திரண்டு ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட இடத்தில் நிரந்தரமாக வாழும் நிலையைச் சொல்வதாக உள்ளது. நாகரிகம் அடைந்த சமுதாயம் என்பது நான்கு முக்கியக் கூறுகளுக்கு முதன்மை அளித்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது நாகரிகவியளாலர்களின் கருத்தாக உள்ளது. அந்நான்கு கூறுகளாவன இலக்கை அடையும் நோக்கு, போற்றத்தக்க செயல்கள், நன்நெறிக் கூறுகள், மனிதர்களிடையே புரிந்துணர்வு மிக்க தொடர்பு ஆகியவைகளாகும். இந்நான்கு கூறுகளையும் நீதி இலக்கியங்களுள் முதன்மையாகக் கருதப்படும் திருக்குறளின் வழி நின்று விளக்குவதாகவே அமைகின்றது. இந்நான்கு கூறுகளையும் விஞ்சக் கூடிய செய்திகள் திருக்குறளில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளமை இக்கட்டுரையின் விளைவாக முன்வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
