Life Values Taught to Students Through Auvaiyar's Poetry Used in Tamil Language Teaching and Learning Activities in Malaysian Tamil Schools

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Avvaiyar's poems in Tamil language education in Malaysian Tamil schools. Avvaiyar, known for her wisdom and profound thoughts in her works, conveys moral, ethical, and social values through simple yet meaningful poems. This study focuses on how these poems impact students in their daily lives. Through text analysis, the study will examine the effectiveness of integrating Avvaiyar's poems into the Tamil education curriculum, considering their impact on character development, moral values, and the enhancement of students' language skills. This research hopes to provide suggestions and recommendations for strengthening the use of Avvaiyar's poems in Tamil language education in Tamil schools, as well as increasing understanding of the richness of Tamil literary heritage. Thus, this study concludes that Avvaiyar's poems serve not only as beautiful literary texts but also as an effective tool in Tamil language education, fostering moral and social values, and improving language comprehension among students.
