This research, titled “The Struggles Faced by Indian Early Career Professionals from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya at the Workplace,” explores the difficulties experienced by early-career graduates as they transition into the workforce. The study aims to identify the academic background of the graduates, examine their career pathways, and understand the challenges they encounter in the workplace. In light of the gap between academic preparation and workplace demands, a quantitative research method was employed through the distribution of structured questionnaires to 80 Indian graduates. The data were analyzed using Jamovi software. This research is grounded in Schlossberg’s Transition Theory, which explains how individuals adapt to life transitions. Key findings reveal challenges, including a lack of experience, weaknesses in soft skills, pressure from job expectations, and poor work-life balance. The results indicate that these challenges can be categorized into internal and external factors. The study successfully met its objectives and provides practical recommendations to help graduates better adapt to the world of work in a more prepared and sustainable manner.
