Abstract

Many people are impressed by the rise of authors like Kamala Devi Aravindan, a renowned author who left her stamp on Singaporean literature. She wrote many literary genres in Tamil and Malayalam, including plays, novels, short tales, and research papers. She departed from literary conventions on grammar. She modernised literary language, ideology, and style, and her writing won several accolades for its wit and quality. Thus, it is possible to fully comprehend the living principles of the Singaporean Tamil community via the short tales of author Kamala Devi Aravindan.
